Cheers
A mobile app that helps users manage every aspect of their events, from invitations and seating to to-do lists - all in one place.
At a Glance
I was responsible for end-to-end product design - from user experience strategy and interface design through design system creation and developer-ready asset delivery.
Competitive UX audit of the old app, opportunity mapping, persona & user story definition, core user flow, wireframes, two distinct visual directions (marketing-focused and industry-focused), full UI design, design system and developer-ready assets.
A research-informed redesign that transforms an outdated event management app into a streamlined, user-centered experience - addressing real user needs across the full event planning journey.
Challenge
Cheers was live on both app stores with an existing user base, but poor user experience, missing core features and no clear product strategy left it unable to compete - resulting in low retention and limited market traction.

What I Did
I started by auditing the existing app to identify UX gaps and untapped opportunities, then defined the target user through a persona, user story and core user flow. From there, I moved into wireframing and explored two distinct visual directions; one marketing-focused, one industry-focused, giving the client a strategic choice in brand positioning. After aligning on the industry direction, I designed the full UI, built a supporting design system and delivered production-ready assets for development.
Product Discovery
I began with a thorough audit of the existing Cheers app and its admin panel - mapping UX gaps, missing features and friction points across the user journey. I also analyzed competing event management apps to understand market expectations and identify opportunities for differentiation. These findings, combined with the client's existing user data, informed the persona, user story and core user flow that shaped the redesign.

Pain Points & Opportunities
Problem Statement
Couples and event hosts planning milestone celebrations need a single platform to manage the full scope of event logistics; from guest lists and seating arrangements to timelines and invitation design, without juggling multiple tools or manual processes.
Solution
I redesigned every core flow from scratch - starting with an audit of the existing app, exploring two visual directions, then delivering the full high-fidelity UI with a comprehensive design system and production-ready assets for both iOS and Android.
